Rahma is funded by people who care about the animals on their streets. Here's what your support has made possible, what we're working on now, and how to give.

We built the Rahma Cattery with YODA at their Malad shelter, took on complex medical cases other organisations couldn't afford, and backed local feeders and rescuers across the city with sterilisation and vet care.

What we're doing

Our work today

  • Medical support

We support complex medical cases that need specialised care beyond the capacity of most NGOs, working with trusted veterinarians at subsidised rates.

  • Shelter aid

We support shelters through infrastructure, medical aid, TNR, catteries, foster homes, neonatal care, critical recovery and adoption awareness.

  • Direct action

Since 2020 we have facilitated 5,000+ sterilisations, while supporting local feeders and TNR efforts to reduce overpopulation and keep communities healthier.

Where we're going

To bridge the gap in awareness and aid while strengthening the system from the ground up.

  1. 1

    Bridge the gaps

Address gaps in infrastructure, resources, awareness and support.

  2. 2

    Strengthen the system

Build better spaces, improve operations and enable coexistence.

  3. 3

    Drive policy change

Advocate for stronger policies that protect community animals.

Where your money goes

What a donation pays for

  • A tabby community cat eating from a foil tray on a mosaic-tiled wall

    Sterilisation & TNR

Trap-Neuter-Return with partner vets - the one humane way to stop colonies growing faster than anyone can care for them.

  • Sausan smiling as she holds a green-eyed black cat on a bed

    Complex medical cases

Surgeries, specialist treatment and critical recovery for cats other organisations can't afford to take on.

  • Sausan and Salim Govani standing beside the 'Rah'ma The Cattery' sign at the Malad shelter

    Catteries in shelters

Purpose-built spaces where rescued cats recover and wait for adoption, instead of living in small cages.

  • A tiny rescued tabby kitten standing up against the bars of a recovery cage

    Neonatal care

Round-the-clock care for orphaned newborn kittens - the most fragile cases, and the ones most often lost.

How to give

Make a donation

  • One-time donation

Any amount helps pay for surgeries, sterilisations, food and recovery care for cats who have no one else.

  • CSR partnership

Companies can fund a defined piece of work - a sterilisation drive, a cattery, a year of medical support - and receive a clear account of what it paid for.

  • Sponsor a cattery or a cat

Fund the build or running costs of a cattery inside an existing shelter, or cover the ongoing care of an individual cat.
